We started Summer break early this year by starting off our first camping trip at the KOA Holiday in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Oregon is like a second home to us since we used to live nearby so this area is one of our favorite places to visit. There’s something about camping that rejuvenates us and gives us a fresh break from the daily life of work and school. Just being outside and enjoying time with the family is really something special and reminds us what life is about. I have partnered with KOA to share with you all the details about what it’s like to camp in KOA Holiday Cascade Locks. Whether you have an RV, a travel trailer, or simply would like to stay in a cabin… KOA Holiday has everything you could ever ask for your family!
ENTRANCE
If you’re anything like me, I miss turns and am completely oblivious to what’s in front of me. That’s why I love staying at a KOA, you can’t miss the big yellow sign. If you’re not familiar with the KOA Holiday… they offer additional amenities and lots of family activities that you’ll see in this post!
Sign in is always a breeze here and I love how they are very helpful and kind. Check in starts at 1:00 PM! By the way, the office also has a general store connected so if you have forgotten a few items at home, this is where you’ll go. I’ll be honest, I totally forgot foil at home so this was so nice to know they’ve got a store inside the campground.
THE RV SPOT
We were assigned to spot #105 and this is a pull through which is very, very helpful for travel trailers. If you own a travel trailer, always ask for a pull through to make your parking life seriously easier. I mean, not that I would know how to park a travel trailer or an RV either way. Oh by the way, I love how it’s paved – A must especially in the PNW! At every spot, there is also a bench for a picnic and a fire ring to start a bonfire for some s’mores making!
ACTIVITIES
Let’s get into the Holiday part of this KOA tour! There are many family activities here and amenities to make this stay so much more fun. There are many more activities such as Wooden Tulip Hunt, Horse shoe, Scavenger hunt, and Ladder gold… but for now, I want to share the activities that we did!
GAME ROOM
This building here is the game room and this is right in front of our spot. There is a bean bag toss that the kids can enjoy. There were a few bean bags available for play, so you definitely could get a game going!
There is a pool table, air hockey, foosball, and a ping pong table! There’s also some wooden blocks to get a game of Jenga going as well. My kids loved this one and it was pretty funny to see them anticipate a fall each turn.
PLAYGROUND
This playground takes me back. Seriously! I love these types of playgrounds because it’s what I remember as a child myself. This playground is located right in front of the office.
Any of you remember tether ball? I use to race through my lunch in elementary school just to be the leader of a tether ball spot!
Kids are just natural born climbers, especially my oldest daughter… she climbed that thing so fast! This playground also has swings.
BIKE RENTAL
This had to be our favorite activity. We definitely had to rent some of these bikes for the kids to literally cruise through the whole campground. The breeze, the sunshine, and their smiles made this time so enjoyable. There were three types of bikes you could choose from and you could choose to rent for a half hour or for a full hour.
Of course mama had to join in this fun. I love this one the most! Oh, by the way, they will give you flags so that if there are any cars around, they will see that you are there. Safety first!
SWIMMING POOL
There is also a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. It’s located near the office and right next to the game room! The swimming pool has a shallow depth of three feet and I believe it goes to six feet deep. By the way, friends… if you’re traveling and planning to take your kids out for a swim, you need these hooded towels by Bebe Au Lait, it will make post swimming so much easier. It’s also easier for your kids to keep in place walking to and fro the swimming pool.
MAKE SOME S’MORES!
Last but not least, at the end of your day… make a fire! We brought our graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate to make s’mores. Make sure to bring some firewood or you could simply stop by in the office to purchase some firewood!
We had an amazing time here at the Cascade Locks KOA Holiday. Whatever your plans are – whether it’s staying at the campground for your whole stay or also visiting nearby places during your stay… this spot has many activities for your family to enjoy to keep you and the kids busy and filled with lots of fun. If you’d like some more details for this campground, please visit Cascade Locks, Oregon Campground for more information. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and until next time!

That looks like such a cute place, tucked into the hills with a variety of fun things to do. I have lived out in the PNW for a few years but hadn’t heard of it before. Going to pin this for a long weekend idea sometime!
