Creating an office is always possible even if you don’t have a dedicated room specifically for your office. It could be in a corner of your bedroom or in the living room. This office corner is actually in an art/studio room and it is dedicated only for planning and “office” needs, if I may. The items that I’m sharing today is affordable depending on how you look at it. I am using two full size Billy bookcase from Ikea, and one single size in the middle to create a corner behind my office desk to organize anything I may need without taking much room. These bookcases are extremely simple to build, take it from me, the most clumsiest person in the world…
These offer plenty of space for anything that you may need. To be honest, i am having a hard time filling up those boxes to organize items I don’t even have. HAHA. For the moment, the things i have organized are envelopes, cards, labels, paper organizers, laminated papers, photo papers, and my planner items. These don’t really take up that much space because the boxes I am using are pretty generous in size. I am using a few different organizers from Ikea as well. They are just simple boxes called TJENA in the color blue and some includes a lid. Even though these are marketed as blue, it looks borderline light turquoise to me! The gray boxes are called KVARNIK boxes and these are a better quality than the previous one I mentioned. They all include paper strips to label the boxes.
Can we agree that not all the shelves will be used to organize boring office stuff? As women, we love pretty things or even if not that, we have special items that we keep because it tells a story of who we are. Just by looking at this picture, there are a few things that giveaway who I am. If out of all these things that could describe me… and you choose only crazy, I don’t blame you. That’s what being a mother tasker does. You might end up crazy, its okay!
I am going to guess that you’ll have bare wall spaces somewhere! You can choose any decor you please, but here i opted for some quotes and bible verses that instill encouragement. These remind me to keep still and calm if I face any uncertainties or insecurities while I am in this room. Can we admit that as a work at home mom, there will be days that will be harder than other days? If you have a Ross store near you, check out their Home Decor section and see what they have available.
If you are a planning mama, you probably have quite a bit of washitapes. I don’t have that many obviously, but I have enough that requires some organization. This is actually a jewelry organizer that I randomly found at Target that is perfect for this. I love that it doesn’t take up much space on the desk!
Finally, this office desk that I have is one that I adore the most. Before it was used as an office desk, it was actually my vanity table. This has two drawers which are lengthy for all your needs. The stool you see here in a basic stool frame from IKEA, and you can choose the fabric of the seating in your local IKEA. I just picked this one because it is monochrome to match my table. This room isn’t carpeted, so for someone who loves carpet but cannot carpet the room… this super cute rug makes the area much more pleasing to look at, plus it adds comfort factor. You can use any rug you have, but this specific one I found at Costco. I have actually used this rug for random projects just because I love carpets! You can blame it on my asian heritage that I just probably like sitting on the floor.
Anyway, these are the tips I have to create an office corner on a budget! I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you so much for visiting my blog and until next time!=
