Do we love items that we can bring anywhere? Well… I do! I am a stroller mama, with all of my three kids ever since they were born…. the one thing that I use the most are strollers (besides diaper bags). They are just super helpful for outings especially if it’s a long day out. Confession: I also didn’t like how they are big so it’s definitely a love/hate relationship! If I could use umbrella strollers, I definitely would have but they didn’t have everything I needed so I sucked it up and used the big ol’ ones.
I am so happy to share with you guys a full review of the Diono Traverze Super Compact Stroller! This baby is seriously the middle sibling of umbrella stroller and the regular stroller.

Traverze In Action
Can we first talk about how beautiful this color scheme is? It’s so sleek and simple, but so luxurious looking! The color I chose is the Black Cube Platinum. The gold is a unique shade as well as it isn’t too yellow, but a beautiful “taupish” kind of gold if I even make sense at all and I’m sure that’s not even a word. The black compliments it so well, doesn’t it?!
I tested it out with my five year old seen above and I was so happy to know that she can still use it. Of course she is on the smaller side, but she does have a long torso of a seven year old. She just has short legs, haha. You can definitely see that she can still fit in there. This stroller has a 45 pound weight limit, by the way and my little Mimi is only 34 pounds!
We went on a walk at our usual walking trail and I say this all the time… kids her age still get tired quickly and often asks to go back on the stroller. The backrest does recline to a good “napping” position or for younger kids, but it does not allow the backrest to sit extremely straight up for older kids. *This may be important for some, but if you’re using it from baby’s first year to preschool age – you’ll love the long use of this!
Check out my little nephew, Harvey, in this stroller. He is two years old and enjoying his ride with the Traverze. I always have my sister try out any products I review to see what she thinks about it. One of the few things she noted were:
- How SOFT the fabric is
- How the wheels literally just GLIDES
- How LIGHTWEIGHT it is
… and that she wants one of her own!
Traverze Features
When I first saw this stroller, I thought it looked really cute and love the compactness of it… but I also saw the wheels and questioned it. I was like… is it really going to be good for long periods of rolling? Haha. I just had the thought of umbrella strollers who are pretty nice for being compact, but I never liked the wheels. These passed our test! I am amazed at the smoothness, you guys I’m not even exaggerating. Diono is right on with the description of these wheels. As a matter of fact, let’s look at their description. Smooth Moves!
- Smooth rolling
- Never flat wheels
- Shock absorbers
- All-wheel suspension
Turns on a dime, with swivel wheels and agile one-hand steering.
By the way, did you notice my Jujube Be Light in the basket?
On the back of the canopy, they have a small zippered pocket which is great for your keys and phone but if you want to carry more than this… keep reading, I’ve got a trick for you!
Did you know that the Traverze is for traveling? Hence, the name! This stroller is so compact that you can travel with it. It folds so tiny and you can cover it with the travel bag that comes with it that it ends up looking like a luggage. Can we go to Hawaii now, Hubby?
The Video Review
Check out an in-depth review of this stroller by watching this video! See how your order will look like once it arrives in your home. Unboxing, first impression, closer look of the features, demo of
- How EASY it is to unfold and fold.
- Putting on the rain cover that is tailored just for this stroller! YES, it comes with a rain cover as well!
- The one -oot only break that is friendly to flip-flop loving wearing mamas (Hi, that’s me)
*Please note that the rain cover and the travel cover that comes with the Traverze stroller is only available in the Gold Collection. If you don’t need the extra stuff, check out their Silver Collection!
Traverze With The Buggy Buddy
If the zippered pocket I mentioned earlier is not enough for you, and it’s not enough for me! I have this little affordable trick that you can do. This is called the Diono Buggy Buddy which is a caddy you can attach to your stroller. It’s super easy to attach AND it is velcro, so whatever type of stroller you have, this will work.
- Two bottle pockets on each side (we love ZoLi Pow Squeak water bottles!)
- A zippered pocket in the middle that I use to store my phone in
- Middle area of the basket: My keys and more of kids snacks.
Also, that little red-orange thing you see hanging out on the side is disposable bags to use for trash or for soiled diapers! It has a scent to it as well to combat the stankiness of whatever you put in there, haha.
Look at my sis and her two year old, aren’t they just so cute? The canopy has a magnetic closure which opens up so you can see what your child is doing. This stroller is awesome for wherever you decide to go: A walk on a nice day, a quick run to the store, or for travel.
