Have you been stepping on legos? Are your kids room are messy with random legos everywhere? Don’t want to pay for an actual lego table? Don’t worry, my fellow parent… I’ve got a super easy and affordable solution for you. This post contains affiliate links.
Before this super easy Lego table DIY, my daughters corner was filled with random Lego pieces, Lego buildings, and Lego people. It was insane to my eyes and I often stepped on Legos every time I went into her room. I also notice many unopened lego boxes and I assume she didn’t want her hard work to end up in pieces again.
THE BASEPLATES
Creative QT Peel ‘n Stick base plates is just what it is… Simple and easy. You simply peel and stick it on. Each package comes with four base plates and my daughter chose the white and tan base plates.
They are 10 x 10 pieces and we ended up getting two packages of them to cover her IKEA Trofast toy storage table. We’ve had this since she was little and it was nice to transform it into her own lego table.
You might have to cut some of the lego base plates to fit your table. I used a simple box knife and a few straight Lego pieces to give me a guideline. I will have a video for you below if you’d like a more visual demonstration!
THE RESULT
Side view of the finished result! You can see that the Lego buildings rest nicely on the base plates. My daughter said it made it easy for her to build her buildings from start to finish.
From the top view, this is how the two base plates look like side by side. It’s pretty easy to line the base plates together. I still advise to take it slow and be careful, though! The adhesive is STRONG which is great.
LEGO FRIENDS TOWN
I am amazed at the finished result. The base plates created such a nice base for her Lego Friends town. She created a home one one side and a fun town on the other side!
Aerial view of the fun side of town! Look at the cute pet park she created, there are dogs, a bunny, a cat, and a believe bats… lol.
This huge Lego friends house is awesome. I still can’t believe she created 80% of these buildings in one day. Two were already made before, but honestly though, I guess she was really determined to create her Lego town.
In front of the big house is a diner and a movie theater. Ahh, so fun to be a kid! As a mom, I’m super happy that everything’s clean, hehe.
WATCH IT!
If you’d like to see a demo on how to DIY a Lego table from start to finish, this video should help you! You can see how her area looked before and process of applying the baseplates.
My daughter is extremely happy and what’s even better is that this allows her to properly play Legos with her siblings without risking anything to be BROKEN into pieces again. That’s a no-no especially after all the hard work of creating it. I hope you will give this easy base plates a try to DIY your own lego table for your kids rooms! Thank you so much for visiting and see you on the next post.
Where is the table from?

It’s from IKEA
IKEA Trofast toy storage table
HI there! I’m about to make a table like this for my son. Do you find they wish they could sit under the table like a desk or are they fine standing above it and playing for multiple hours?

Hi! I think it depends on the child! but both my daughters have this table for their lego table and they sit on the floor playing with their legos. My son has an actual table from IKEA for his lego table. They all play just fine sitting on the floor or sitting on the chair. I don’t have a post or a video solely for my son’s lego table, but i have this clip from this video that you can check out: https://youtu.be/_h35Im_WVGA
