Happy planning, happy mama, smooth days in this thing we call mom life! I’m sure I don’t have to convince you that as a stay at home mom and a work at home mama, my to-do list and things that I need to remember can become long. Long lists of so many different things to do can become jumbled and turn into mushed brain. For me, that results into an overworked mentality and it usually makes me feel like I didn’t get anything done.

Ever since I started using more and more of my planner, the more organized I am and therefore, the more I realize that I DID get things done in a timely manner. It’s helped a lot to manage and prioritize my family life and my business! Since I am so thankful for the Happy Planner and how it literally made me HAPPY, I want to share with you how I use the Super Mom Mini Happy Planner with my favorite accessories!

Starting Out
I chose the Super Mom Mini Planner to give me a chance to tag it along with me to places to write down important dates and events in my family life as well as my children’s school activities. I have three children, so it’s impossible to remember every little thing that goes on in their school.
I immediately purchased regular size discs in Metal Gold and took out the mini sized discs that comes with the mini planner. This planner is for 2019, but I went ahead and bought the extension pack because I wanted to use it NOW haha. It’s so cute and functional that I need to be on my organized, mom boss and rockin’ game n-o-w.
Planning Layout Ideas
I love themes, and this is a great way to start out to get an idea on what to do. I love making things pretty too, so I needed a way to have both function and prettiness all at the same time. Since it’s fall… it’s a no-brainer to have a fall themed weekly layout.
Most of the stickers used in this one is from the Squad Goals sticker book, but I also took some from super mom and brights (the sad face on my cancelled plan). Happy Planner has regular sized and mini sized stickers for the coordinating planners, but I found that I can use both in my mini.
For example, take a look at my TO DO list on Wednesday for grocery shopping day. It’s way too big for my mini, but oh hey, it looks GOOD girl.
My second way to plan in a horizontal layout is to… turn it into a dashboard layout by using washi tapes. This MUST be my favorite way to plan because it works the best for my lifestyle. On the left side, I use it to plan outings and reminder that I have a project to do in my craft room.
On the right side on that given day is my mommy duties, dinner plans, and self-care. Note my notes section on the bottom left side of the end of the week. I use these to write down my hubby’s schedule to coordinate with my schedule. I don’t know about you, but I do not like being a busy body when my hubby is home. Call me lovey dovey, but I just want to spend my time with him, hehe!
Fun addition to a clear space I might have is to create a highlights section to write down my favorite moments of the week. It’s quick, simple, but oh so memorable. Apparently, I took this picture before my week ended, though as I have no highlights written yet.
Planning Accessories
Having accessories for my planner was not only necessary, but also super fun and literally makes everything so much prettier and nicer to look at. Am I right or am I right? I like being able to find my current week and using the dashboard bookmark have made it so easy. This comes in a pack of three in different styles, but I like the bookmark style one. This one is the Super Mom theme too, by the way!
Ah, Imagine this planner to have no color… it wouldn’t be so appealing to me, which leads to my collection of sticker books! If you have a planner, you need stickers!
These three: Planner Basics, Choose Happy, & Super Mom are my most used sticker books because it compliments each other in color and they just have what I need every day, every week, and every month!
I love that Happy planner creates coordinating accessories with their planner theme because I seriously love this pen case. Okay, I’m going to be completely honest. At first, I didn’t like this pen case because it just made my planner bulky in the inside and I didn’t want to cover my front cover either. I want my #momlife to be visible because hi, #momlife.
I ended up putting it in the back of my planner and ooh girl, I LOVE IT. I love having all my favorite pens, markers, and highlighters with me. No more looking for pens all over the place.
My pastor is pretty awesome, and he gives GREAT sermons and I remember that day he called out on humanity and said that we are just forgetful human beings. It’s really true because no matter how much amazing information we take in… when we go home, we forget the exact thing that was said.
I like adding a note paper at the end of the week to write down the message. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have remembered what Kairos Apokastasis mean. This is why I fell in love with Happy Planner, I am able to add pages as I see fit due to their disc system. They don’t decide for me. They give me a starting point and let me grow into who I am as a planner which leads to a successful week, month, year, and LIFE.
Double Planning
I never knew I would be that person who would have more than one planner. I think it’s obvious by now that the mini size is needed. I have it on my bedside table and I can bring it places. Truth be told, the mini size is not enough for my business life to-dos and ALL the details I need to remember and check off.
The classic size Happy Planner is their standard size and when I saw that they were coming out with the Miss Maker… OH. HECK. YES. I told myself, “You can’t have a craft room, and not have a crating planner, miss thang.” Long story short, I convinced myself and now that I have been doing so many projects… I’m really glad I snagged this planner.
Since I am a blogger and creator, there are many important details that needs to be written down. For example, I have put scrapbooking off for five or so years and I truly believed I would have never been able to catch up.
Long to do list and high expectancy usually turns into exhausted mentality that I just don’t start. My oldest is nine and is in fourth grade and I left her scrapbook at age four. My son is in second grade and his scrapbook stopped at age two. My youngest which is a five year old… hm, is there even a scrapbook started? LOL.
I finished all three within the month of October. When you think about it, between mom life and business life, sometimes personal projects can be put on the back burner. I’m really happy and content that I caught up with all their birthdays and school pictures. It’s an amazing feeling!
Sometimes it can be pretty tough to keep up with two planners… this is complete honesty. But I notice that even though it takes a bit of a time to plan things together and have both work well with each other….it made my life so much easier. This Miss Maker stays in my craft room and I can easily check off what I finished. (Okay, my check offs are sometimes heart stickers)
Helpful tip: Use the large date numbers from the Planner Basics sticker book for important events to stop you from planning anything THAT DAY!
I also remind myself in this planner of appointments and important events so that no matter where I am, I can look at either of my planner and see everything that’s going on that week.
Fun Tip: Don’t fret, make it fun by writing silly things like… to do: absolutely nothing on your Sunday nights! That’s the best way to get you to RELAX!
October was a successful month and so far, my November is going well! I can’t wait to show you my November spread in my upcoming post. I hope you enjoyed all the fun tips for your planning life as much as I enjoyed writing these for you. Hope you have an amazing week and see you on my next post!
