It’s been months. Since my last post, it’s been a whirlwind. Probably too many things that is too jumbled to explain at this moment. I learned something very powerful. It’s a bit sad, but very powerful. The truth is when you ask God for wisdom… He gives it.
I was sitting around doing absolutely nothing. I felt tired from editing videos and folding clothes. Probably also from cooking, too haha. I was on YouTube scrolling over nonsense, but one hit me. I watch a lot of channels that teach the Bible. This one, he talked about how the Bible explained that the WORLD was given over to satan the moment Adam and Eve sinned.
Sin was let loose to the world the moment they chose to disobey God. Sin is like a tiger, waiting to pounce on those who is not aware. It’s an endless type of corruption that seeps to one person and to the next if it is not controlled.
There’s a reason why God teaches us not to be part of the world and it’s ways. That is because of the sole reason that the world’s ways is NOT His ways. He doesn’t instruct us to be set apart to control us, but it is to protect us. God knows that it is destructive and it will lead to death. It’s like telling our child not to touch a hot iron, a hot pan, or… ice so cold their tongue will get stuck on it.
A few months ago, little did I know that I would be on a roller coaster test of my faith. It seems normal in this world. If I chose to not put God first, then it is just normal. Seen as normal in the ways of the world. Better yet, majority would favor the world’s ways. Due to this, I feel shunned, ignored, and set aside. All the things to make me feel unworthy.
But God.
He shows me the history of the Bible that the way to Heaven is narrow. It can seem lonely even. He tells me HE loves me unconditionally. Even better, He has given me brothers and sisters in Christ. Never did I imagine that is what Heaven is like or what the actual meaning of family is.
Yes, on earth those terms mean differently but in Heaven, it means those who choose to follow the Christ. He is our Father, and those who believe in Him is our family. We are not bound by the blood of earthly relationships, but we are SAVED by the blood of Jesus Christ. We hear it over and over, He died for us. What did He die for?
Did He die so we can remain in our own selfish ways? Did He die so we can still be shackled due to lack of forgiveness, anger, and pride? That seems a bit silly… well, not silly. It seems like if we do not change, we are taking advantage of His death.
But God.
God knows that He is not a fool. He knows us before we know what we are doing. Do we believe with all our hearts, minds, and soul? Or is it in vain?
15:1 Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel that I preached to you, that you received and on which you stand, 15:2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 15:3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received—that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 15:4 and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve… Corinthians 15
Imagine God loves us so much that He became flesh and gave us the ultimate sacrifice so that we may be saved, but we choose not to change? Even worse due to our knowledge of the Lord, but uses it for our own good and stumbles those around us. The bible warns about this very clearly. He will claim He will never know us.
It takes steadfastness to hold the word of God. It takes dedication and practice to live it, to bless that with the people around us. What a gift that is to them, so that they also may know Jesus. This is our assignment here on earth. Spread the gospel and extend that salvation to those we encounter. How? By our words, by our actions, and by sharing our JOY. No matter what the storms in our lives us, we still know and see the goodness of Jesus Christ. That is strength, and that strength come from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I actually wrote the beginning of this post two months ago in April. It is now June. Ever since then, the same message has stuck in me. I know it is from God because it is companied by the peace of His Spirit. When I feel like I’m struggling and start to doubt myself, I close my eyes and ask God… “Am I following your Word or is it my pride?” This is how you know you are aligned with God. If you feel guilt and condemnation, it is from the devil himself. If you feel truly at peace, you know it is God. The feeling of when you are consumed with the Spirit is unlike any other.
It is a slight out of body experience that people explain as having chills. You’re in your body, but you are slightly hovering. The chills though is warm, unlike the cold chilling of this world. You feel tingles of light all around your body as if there were a Spirit around you carrying you upright. It also feels like you are a bit light headed because you are not bound by the problems of the earth. WIth that said, I have no clue how to explain it, but when I am consumed with the Spirit, it usually lasts seconds and the most is minutes. it is overwhelming in a good way and I imagine when you live in Heaven with God, this feeling is eternity. You are with the Spirit, and the Spirit is God.
Being a Christian does not mean to be a doormat. It does not mean to compromise and it does not mean that you should carry the curse of cultures. Being a Christian means that we know the word of God, to live it, and to SPEAK life into what you know is darkness. Being silent and compromising is letting the devil run wild freely as he likes. To me, that means putting God under a lamp and hiding His light to where it should be. Everywhere.
So be free, my friends. God has freed you. You are free to stand tall and share the gospel, His Word, and to not be ashamed to do so. Bless everyone, no matter who they are. Lift them up, but also to speak the word of God when they are not walking in God’s way. God did not free us to compromise or to stay silent. It may be hard, but when you speak the Word of God… it is not really your words that is coming out of your mouth. If they rebuke you, it is not really you they are rebuking. One thing to know who loves Jesus is when you speak His Word, they welcome it. Those who are offended, do not know and refuse the Lord Jesus.
Be at peace of who you are in Jesus Christ. Great strides has been made for me to know this and it was a tough journey. He is alive in us for a purpose. One day, the Lord will renew the world to be heaven once again and until then, be set apart from THIS world. Put your armor on, live, and speak to the truth that is Jesus Christ.
